A number of years ago, I started a blog with a similar name to write about my reading - obviously from the blog name. I was not working and thought it was a good way to keep my mind sharp while I was hunting for a job. I found one, and while I continued to read (I had a 45 minute train commute twice a day which afforded me plenty of time to read), I stopped writing. Probably because I did a fair amount of writing at work.
I'm retired now and have decided to try again. I don't have that commute, thank goodness, but I still read as much as possible. Shortly after I retired, my husband and I decided to move from our home of 25 years in the western suburbs of Chicago to southeastern Texas, just north of Houston. Talk about a change. The move was exhausting, but I continued to read. The pandemic really didn't affect my reading. I just kept it up. Now I need to get my thoughts down, even if no one reads them.I have been writing reviews for BookBub, NetGalley, GoodReads and I'll continue to do that, but sometimes I want to talk about several books by an author or a genre of books or just general book topics. I'm not part of a book club but I'd like to reflect on what I read in a less structured form than a book review. So I'll try this. Wish me luck!
